About
Taking the Leap
I spent years telling colleagues “no, you can’t have/do this/that”.
Over a 20-year career in a finance, accounting/operations role at a consulting firm, I didn’t feel my role was playing to the positive and delightful person I see myself as and want to present to the world. Instead, I was the messenger enforcing compliance with dry corporate policies. The bearer of bad news.
I decided I needed a change. I wanted to forge a new path that showcases my best traits - that reflects who I am. That allows me to face each day knowing that positive experiences and creative expression awaits. To do something I enjoy and that makes others - and myself - happy.
In 2019, I left that world defined by cubicles and spreadsheets behind to pursue my new dream by enrolling in the Baking and Pastry program at Kendall College. Here I learned new skills and new ways to apply my existing ones in the culinary industry. Excelling in the classroom and the kitchen while forming great relationships with my classmates and instructors.
I’ve found a great home as the Production Manager at Katherine Anne Confections, a small, woman owned business that reflects core values of community, environmental responsibility, and giving back, allowing me to express my passion for hospitality and the culinary industry as a whole.
